ExperiencesI have tutored dozens of students in SAT math, ACT math, Economics and high school math with excellent results. Additionally, I have also helped candidates working on their GMAT, MBA in Finance, Series 7, and Series 66 exams. One on One tutoring has always proven to be the most effective teaching method. I believe that everyone has the capability to learn. The secret sauce is the right approach and it takes a sensitive teacher to find the correct recipe that works. The proper approach depends on your goals. If you are good and want to get better, that requires one technique. If you are intimidated by Math and you have always struggled, that requires a different method. Everyone is teachable one on one when motivated. As a tutor it is very rewarding to be sitting next to a student at the exact moment they "GET IT" and then go on to do well on their test. I work from a baseline of diagnostic test results and design instructions that will address deficiencies. A course of study to achieve a goal is usually the best approach but I can work under deadlines as well. Flexible scheduling can include evenings, nights, and weekends. I will travel to your house or a library. I do recommend a minimum of 1 - 1 1/2 hours per session since I find that to be the most effective in producing concrete results. My qualifications include graduating high school in the top 1% of my class, Cornell University with a BS in Operations Research, Tau Beta Pi (Engineering Honor Society), and an MBA in finance from Cornell University. I am able to relate to my students very well having already tutored many with results that speak for themselves. I have 3 children with the youngest in College. I live in Northern New Jersey and I teach Financial Literacy to High School Freshman as part of my day job.
